Entire Collections deleted

Hello,

I had a subcollection under "My Library" and many other subcollections. There were hundreds of documents in each of them. Now I don't find any of them. I didn't find anything in the trash and I checked if I had renamed them, but it's not the case. Help!!
  • It looks like you (or someone with access to your library) deleted a bunch of collections and emptied them from the trash (or deleted them in Zotero 6, which didn't send collections to the trash).

You can likely restore from the one of your automatic backups.

Note that the items would still be in your library root.
  • Someone must've hacked my account because I saw IP that show different places from where I live. The other strange thing is that the collection deleted are the ones that I was using for my latest project. I really cannot understand how it happened.
  • No one hacked your account. There are only two recent sessions, one for the app and one for the website, and both used your current IP address. IP address locations are approximate.

You likely just pressed Delete with the wrong pane selected and clicked through the confirmation dialog. You should make sure you're using Zotero 7, which sends collections to the trash instead of deleting them immediately.

Again, you can likely recover the collection from one of your automatic backups.
  • Thank you. I tried, but I was unable to recover my collections.
